We here at St Irene's Council of Catholic Women are excited about the Pope declaring this the year of the Priest. The purpose of the jubilee year, the
Pontiff said in his March 16, 2009 speech, is simple, yet challenging: "To encourage priests in striving for spiritual perfection on which, above all, the
effectiveness of their ministry depends."
With this in mind, we have adopted a seminarian by the name of Bryan Johnson. We would like to offer encouragement to Bryan as our Holy Father
has asked of us. Bryan is in his 2nd year of theology at Mundelein Seminary. Please join us in praying for Bryan as he continues in his priesthood
